Financial Planner

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

CFM is hiring a Financial Planner to join our office in Virginia Beach, VA. As a Financial Planner, you will collaborate with other members in the Financial Planning Department to provide financial planning, wealth management and investment advisory services. The seasoned Financial Planner will join a team of dynamic, collaborative, and client-focused professionals who take pride on delivering massive value to the families the firm serves. Essential duties for the the Financial Planner will include, but are not limited, to:


  • Collecting data for financial planning via client questionnaire, clarifying and verifying client answers to questions and entering data into financial planning system.
  • Developing customized and comprehensive personal and business financial plans.
  • Utilizing financial planning software to generate financial plans and reviewing them with Managing Partner.
  • Generating specific action plans for clients relative to specific recommendations made in their financial plan.
  • Creating, reviewing, and entering data into spreadsheets to analyze specific financial planning and/or business planning issues.
  • Working with the financial planning team to continually assess existing software to determine the need for changes and/or upgrades in order to maximize opportunities with clients and potential clients.
  • Performing other duties as assigned and required..

Qualifications/Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the wealth management industry.
  • 3 years’ experience as a Financial Planner or related capacity; client facing experience a plus.
  • 4-year undergraduate degree required; preferably in Financial Planning or Accounting or a related major.
  • CFP Designation preferred or ability to obtain post hire.
  • Knowledge of financial planning software; proficiency in eMoney is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Excel and/or programming skills a plus.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to organize and present data.
